Description
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as Care Assistants for our home care services. As a Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our clients to live independently and comfortably in their own homes. You will provide person-centered care, promoting their well-being and ensuring their safety and dignity at all times.
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care and assistance to clients, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Support clients with mobility and transfer needs, using appropriate techniques and equipment.
- Administer medications as prescribed and assist with medication management.
- Assist with meal planning, preparation, and feeding, taking into account dietary restrictions and nutritional needs.
- Help clients with light household tasks, such as cleaning, laundry, and grocery shopping.
- Foster social engagement by engaging in conversation, accompanying clients to appointments, or organizing leisure activities.
- Observe and report any changes in clients' physical or mental health to the care coordinator or healthcare professionals.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of care provided and any relevant observations or incidents.
- Follow care plans and individualised support plans, ensuring that clients' preferences and choices are respected.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a care role, preferably in-home care or a similar setting.
- NVQ/QCF level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent qualification).
- Knowledge of personal care techniques and understanding of safeguarding principles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients and their families.
- Empathy, patience, and a compassionate approach towards providing care.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, following instructions and care plans.
- Reliable and punctual, with good time management skills.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- A valid driving license and access to a vehicle (if required for client visits).
