CODE OF CONDUCT FOR HEALTHCARE WORKERS

 

Ethical Standards: As a healthcare worker, you are expected to always conduct yourself in an ethical and professional manner. You are expected to abide by the facility’s code of ethics, as well as any relevant laws and regulations.

Patient Care: The health and well-being of the patients is our top priority. You are expected to provide the highest quality of care to all patients, regardless of their background or circumstances. You should always act in the best interests of the patient and respect their autonomy.

Confidentiality: You are expected to maintain the confidentiality of patient information at all times. Any unauthorised disclosure of patient information is strictly prohibited. 

Professionalism: You are expected to always conduct yourself in a professional manner. This includes being punctual, respectful, and well-groomed. You should also be willing to continue your professional development and to seek out new learning opportunities. 

Teamwork: You are expected to work collaboratively with your colleagues and other healthcare professionals. You should be willing to lend your support and expertise to others, and to accept constructive feedback. 

Communication: You are expected to communicate effectively with patients, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals. You should be able to convey information clearly, listen actively, and respond appropriately.

Safety: You are expected to ensure the safety of yourself, your colleagues, and the patients. You should follow established safety protocols and report any hazards or incidents to the appropriate person. 

Compliance: You are expected to comply with all relevant laws and regulations, as well as the facility’s policies and procedures. Any violation of these rules may result in disciplinary action. 

Responsibility: You are responsible for your own actions and for maintaining the integrity of the profession. 

Continuous improvement: You are expected to continually strive to improve your knowledge and skills in order to provide the best possible care to our patients.
